Runken is the VP of property development at Fuel Entertainment, and has helped sculpt the entertainment division into a creative think tank that develops intellectual properties for all areas of youth engagement, including TV, gaming and merchandise. He has successfully developed Fuel’s existing brands into 360 entertainment properties, and has created development deals with Wildbrain, Sony and Relativity Media.
A strategic marketing professional with 20 years of experience working in the youth market, he began his career in the action sports industry, where he worked his way up to senior director of brand development. He was responsible for the successful launch of several key brands, as well as securing product placement in 26 countries.
Before coming to Fuel, he spent six years in the toy industry, most notably as a director of marketing at Jakks Pacific, a top five global toy company, where he helped redefine the girls division by focusing on developing and launching award-winning intellectual properties – which have become some of the company’s most successful brands to date.
